Programs and Modules

Programs

The software from Sunburst Database provides solutions for various industries. The programs and development techniques have been refined over the past 20 years to create reusable components for successful applications.

The software is configurable for specific needs, or can serve as the basis for a solution after further modification. The programs run under Microsoft Access and can be installed on a company network or hosted on an Internet server.

Sunburst Database has developed basic systems that are modified to match client needs through configuration, additional coding, and add-on modules. Following are some examples of database programs currently available. Contact us to see more specific examples

Sunburst Lean Manufacturing

Sunburst Lean Manufacturing (SLM) is a database software system for small to medium sized manufacturers. SLM borrows from the concepts of lean manufacturing and just-in-time production in order to reduce inventory costs and wastage. It controls the manufacturing process from initial order through manufacturing through billing. SLM uses a Kanban pull system for replenishing parts. The assembly process includes purchased parts from outside vendors that are managed through the Purchase Order system.

The SLM software utilizes Microsoft Office and SQL Server technology. The program is developed with Microsoft Access, a relational database technology that can run on a Local Area Network (LAN), or over the Internet using Remote Desktop. The application provides screen interfaces for managing sales, manufacturing, and billing. Modules include:

• Customer and Vendor Management

• Job Orders with Product Configuration

• Parts Libraries for BOM Configuration

• Work Orders and Purchase Orders

• Invoicing and Returned Items

• Payments and Accounting

• Inventory Tracking

The Sunburst Lean Manufacturing System is highly configurable. It has an accounts receivable module that is integrated with the sales and manufacturing process. The details of product parts configuration and work orders are maintained within the system. The accounting modules create charges and invoices from the initial sales orders. Invoice and payment totals can then be entered into auxiliary accounting systems like QuickBooks. SLM has a sophisticated Bill Of Materials (BOM) subsystem for managing the parts needed to create a product along with assembly instructions.

The software architecture for SLM has been developed over decades. SLM is currently a primary focus. The goal is to match the software to your business process using the configurable components of the database. Sunburst Database provides assistance with installation, configuration, training, and system support. We help you define the categories for customers, jobs, products, and parts. There are numerous screens and reports to help business productivity. Users can filter records for PDF reports and Excel exports. Estimates and invoices can be automatically attached to outgoing email messages to customers.

This system manages a small manufacturing system from sales order through production, and includes an account receivables module to track invoices, payments, and account balances. There is a complex system to drive work orders and purchase orders from the Bill of Materials for each sales item.

Job Estimate Tracker DMS

This system provides job costing software for engineering firms and construction service companies to manage estimating, time and materials charges, billing, and accounts receivables components. Numerous modules developed over the past ten years have been assembled to manage client contacts, estimating, work orders, time-tracking, purchase orders, vendor payments, inventory, and customer billing. Current users of various versions of this system include painting, roofing, plaster, and plumbing companies. The system integrates with QuickBooks tables to monitor invoicing.

Patient Chart Tracker DMS

This system manages patient medical summaries to help doctors quickly view the essential patient chart data necessary to provide quality medical care. The software can act as a stand-alone program or be integrated with standard medical accounting packages. For many doctors, their EHR/EMR medical billing software makes it difficult to quickly access important health information because the billing software is mainly designed to comply with reporting requirements for government or insurance companies.

Event Response Tracker

This system manages the emergency responses for an organization that has numerous paid or volunteer responders. It can help with tracking of memberships and donations, and can be expanded to provide billing and invoices based on timesheets and materials used in a response.

Paint Formulator

A software solution for storing and managing paint mixes for professional paint contractors. The database tracks the various stages of adding pigments to a mixture until the desired color is reached. Paint formulas are stored for various jobs and can be retrieved by client, job, or formula code. Formulas can be assigned to other jobs, and further modified by adding pigments. Reports can be generated with formula components. Labels can be printed for adhesion to paint cans.

Bank Financial Regulatory Reporting

These products are co-developed and co-marketed with partner Data Informatics (DataInformatics.com). The Bank Informatics software is integrated with the Import Templates module to automate data feeds from diverse sources. Complex stored formulas are applied to the merged data to produce outputs that match regulatory reporting requirements. Bank Informatics resides on your server under your control, replacing complicated Excel spreadsheets and cumbersome core processing reporting modules.

Modules

The various complete systems are integrated with modules that perform specific functions. These modules are well tested and can be added to new custom systems. Examples include:

Client Contact Tracker

This module manages contacts of various types, such as customers, vendors, or staff. It includes contact reports, search and filtering, data export, and broadcast emailing.

File Tracker DMS

This module manages files in Windows folders that are linked to records in the database. It allows users to open a file linked to a database record directly from the database application while viewing the record. Users can open files of any type, like a Word document, Excel spreadsheet, PDF document, or image file. The files can be viewed, edited, or printed without needing to leave the database program. This module is usually integrated with the Client Contact Tracker, but can work with other data tables such as jobs.

Import Templates

This module transfers data from one system to another. Using configurable templates, the fields in a record-based source can be mapped and converted for migration to another destination. The source records can be an SQL database, accounting program, Excel spreadsheet, or text file. The destination can be another database, spreadsheet, or program.

Salesforce Migration

This module uses the algorithms of Import Templates, but with the goal to export data from a Legacy source and convert the records for import into Salesforce. Special subroutines convert standard data to the formats acceptable by Salesforce. The legacy source records might be an accounting program, a database providing an ODBC connection, or spreadsheet files.
